September 3, 2011. We went on a Samurai Village tour in Kakunodate. It was about a 3 hour bus ride. It was so very hot this day! Thankfully, the row of houses were shaded by a line of trees. Kakunodate town is know as "Little Kyoto" in Tohuku. It was really nice, but after a short while we just wanted air conditioning!
There was some food shops where you could sample various items. Of course most things were mystery items. There was a store selling sake that we could taste test. Berto usually can't pass up buying a bottle or two when they offer us a taste.
It was a fun Saturday!!
